Why is it that we anthropomorphize everything?
We actually don’t antropomorphize everything, we “egoize” everything. Ego sees itself in other people as its own reflection, and it sees itself in animals, too. The stronger the ego, the more is the tendency to see “human” social traits and behavior in animals. For example, some cat owners think their cats are capable of annoying them on purpose after being wronged, i.e. capable of revenge - a supremely egoic and irrational behavior. “Egoizing” machines and robots is just the next logical step. People used to “egoize” nature before we knew better, just look at the Greek-Roman pantheon of Gods. Christianity has one God, but it “egoizes” the hell out of him by attributing him a kind of a personality (and by the way, not a pretty one). All of that are automatic projections of the dreaming mind, our social conditioning, nothing else.
The unraveling of this madness is the reverse: if you don’t think God is mad at you on purpose, maybe the rain wasn’t directed at you either, the car didn’t break down to annoy you, your cat isn’t trying to spite you and ultimately, maybe other people are also not there to hurt you but this is just how they are.
