What are some truths you learned in adulthood you would rather keep a childlike ignorance of?

Not a single one. There’s nothing I learned in adulthood that I didn’t know when I was a child. But when I was growing up, people around me, by trying to protect me from their own “hard truths” (in reality - their own pain), induced a lot of their own fears and insecurities into me and made me into an emotional mess. It was very hard to unlearn all that and become an innocent child again.
