Yes, but it’s superficial happiness. If your happiness is given by others, it can be taken by others just as easily, that’s only logical. True happiness and peace which can be found in enlightenment does not depend on anyone. The problem is only that people don’t believe such happiness exists, so they are looking for happiness in all the wrong places, which is why lasting peace and contentment are ever elusive.
