Do enlightened people feel special as they've been touched by God?

No, they feel very ordinary, way more ordinary than everyone else, or how they used to feel before. For a regular person, it is incomprehensible to imagine how ordinary they feel. Believe it or not, there’s a degree of “ordinariness” which, if a regular person with regular ego experienced for a few seconds, he would collapse to his knees in tears. He probably wouldn’t even be able to form a coherent question about that experience other than “And that’s it?” To which an enlightened person would say “That’s it, that’s all there is to it”.

The desire to be special is exactly what prevents us from sinking into and drowning in this ever-present ordinariness of life. We always want it to be something more. More fun, more loving, more happy, more enlightened! And while you’re waiting for it to be something more, you are missing what’s right in front of you.

People who say they feel special, touched by God, and all other similar things aren’t enlightened, not yet.
