Do I have to be spiritual to meditate?

Read original publication

No, being spiritual is counter-productive to your meditation practice. Meditation is a practice of self-love, and accepting your reality for what it is. Learning to be with yourself, to love yourself. Learning to accept whatever comes your way, experientially and emotionally. What’s spiritual about that? If you approach meditation as a spiritual exercise, you will wait to see some weird stuff there or for some truth to be revealed to you, and you will totally miss it for what it is.
