Does enlightenment create paradoxes? Is truth paradoxical?

Yes and no.

The truth is paradoxical from the egoic perspective, yes, very much so. So enlightenment appears extremely paradoxical, especially in the beginning, when all your paradoxes, your own made up paradoxes are being uncovered and destroyed.

From the enlightened perspective, ego is paradoxical and is full of contradictions. So enlightenment is absolute sanity whereas different degrees of egoic existence are different degrees of insanity.

The most famous example of enlightenment paradoxes are Zen koans. They are designed to be paradoxes, so that for a moment, the student sees his own self-contradictory structure of the mind and laughs. But “getting” a Zen koan this way is insufficient. It’s wonderful, it’s great when it happens, it can bring a big relief, but it’s insufficient. Which is why Osho used to say Zen as a discipline of practice (which isn’t merely about koans, but also non-reaction) is counter-productive before one enters non-duality, and I tend to agree with him.
