Enlightened people don’t hide anything from “common” people. I wouldn’t call them “common” also, everyone is common. I would just call them confused.

It’s the opposite - confused people are hiding themselves from themselves. They are their greatest secret to themselves, they are hiding their own confusion from themselves, and, by extension, from an enlightened person also.

So it may appear to them that an enlightened person knows some secret, some special sauce, whereas in reality, he knows none, he just knows that you are only pretending to be confused, that it’s a play for you, an act. When you feel that coming from him, he may seem very mysterious to you, mischievous, even, but the reality is, you are simply seeing your own mystery in him, the mystery of the many layers of make believe, the many layers of confusion.
