Yes. But when you say “child” think early childhood, before you could even speak, maybe shortly afterwards. Certainly before the very first grasps of understanding of what your parents want from you dawned, and you began to oblige.

Also, there’s no such thing as “spiritually present”. There’s nothing spiritual about being present, being a baby, or being enlightened. Spirituality is a mechanism, a tool, a path to get you there, it’s not the destination.
