What is the difference between enlightenment and nihilism, if all philosophy and religion are flawed?

Not much. Yes, all philosophies, religion and spirituality are flawed, and there is no purpose to life. Life cannot have a purpose, for if life has a purpose, there’s something greater than life, which gave it purpose, but then what’s the purpose of that?

Nihilism has a negative connotation because to realize it is the most painful thing. So, nihilism is connected to depression and cynicism in the mind, and most people just don’t want to go there - it’s too scary to lose all your beliefs and values.

A cynic knows it’s all a pretense, he abhors the fakeness of society, but he’s hiding behind his anger, because he doesn’t want to cry his tears about it. An enlightened one has, he couldn’t hide no longer.

Only when all beliefs are shed, all tears are cried, and all anger is had, it can be appreciated that those beliefs and values were the constant source of misery and cruelty. Only in complete surrender and acceptance can life be seen for the wonder that it is. It then becomes the highest value and the only value, as one becomes Life itself.
