What's the saddest truth about alcohol?

The saddest truth about alcohol is that it’s a dangerous pain-numbing drug, a nervous system depressant. And most people use alcohol to numb their pain and desperation, which is why it’s addictive. So alcohol is basically in the same category as morphine, as different drugs go, it is the complete diametrical opposite of psychedelics, which open you up to your pain and promote an emotional release, thus liberating you from your pain. Which is why they aren’t addictive and self-regulating. You cannot get addicted to releasing your pain, it’s not possible. The worst that can happen is there will just be no more pain to release. But you can get addicted to numbing your pain. That’s what all addictive drugs do.

As any pain numbing drug, alcohol provides a short-term relief and no long-term benefits whatsoever. And it’s dangerous for the body. Psychedelics provide long-term benefits, even though the experience itself can be challenging, and they’re not dangerous for the body.

The saddest truth about this juxtaposition is that you can buy alcohol at every corner of every street, and psychedelics are Schedule I.
