The main characteristic of new age spirituality is thinking that “old school” masters such as Osho are full of shit and refuse to accept their “egoic shadow”, which makes them “spiritual fundamentalists”.

So, on one hand, new age spiritual people claim that enlightenment is much more easily accessible than it’s been thought of, historically, because they are, themselves, enlightened, and it wasn’t that bad. On the other hand, they claim that enlightenment is impossible, because on some level they know that their ego is still there, but it’s believed to be needed for their survival, so everyone who’s saying the opposite is a liar.

If you are a new age spiritual person or teacher, you probably have two peculiar devices installed in you which I don’t have. One is the “resonator” that resonates with other people, another is the “radiator” that radiates unconditional love. You probably pay attention to them, too, and never forget to oil them appropriately so that they keep humming along.

When both your resonator and your radiator choke up and break down in a big cloud of black smoke, you will become enlightened for realz.
