Do we have more than 7 chakras and how do we utilize them if we do?
We don’t have chakras. Chakras are an illusion. Focusing on chakras will not be productive - it will make you cling to your body and make it harder to realize consciousness. Chakras come from yogic tradition, in which they spend an inordinate number of years preparing the body for the realization. There are many levels of yoga and real spiritual work only truly begins at the last, highest level.
This is not needed. It’s a silly path, not a good one. Advanced yogis can often times be self-realized, but very few yogis are enlightened. They are enchanted by their methods, enchanted by their bodies, enamoured by its tricks and various altered states of consciousness. In enlightenment, a total relaxation is necessary, a complete let go. No methods, no tricks, just surrender.
If you are ready to drop the ego, you are ready. The readiness comes from the mind, your emotional maturity, your willingness to surrender, your life experience, your understanding of the pain and suffering you already went through. It doesn’t come from body work.
Focus on the mind. The body follows the realized mind, not the other way around. When the mind relaxes in its totality, the body will relax in its totality. It will just happen, it cannot not happen.
