How to retain your personality without clinging to it? And on the other hand how to rest as awareness without clinging to egolessness?

You cannot be asking these two questions at the same time - they correspond to totally different stages of non-duality. It looks like you’re trying to find balance. Don’t try to find balance. Trying to maintain balance actually is clinging, there’s no maintaining balance in freedom, otherwise it’s not freedom. You have to be willing to let it go in both expressing your personality when you feel like it and in abiding in “egoless awareness”, as you described it. Ego tries to find balance all the time, because ego is afraid. Don’t be afraid to let go of personality, but don’t actively push it away either. Let go.

It’s impossible to cling to true egolessness, true egolessness is Buddhahood. What’s much more likely is happening is that “awareness” is calling you to abide in it, but you’re afraid to lose yourself, to lose your personality, your ego, and you interpret it as if you’re “clinging” to awareness and looking for some reassurance that you shouldn’t be, because you don’t want it to happen. That’s resistance.
